Family history is sketchy, but I am said to be of the Gunn Clann, descended through the Wilson sept who arrived in Canada about 1925 in the form of my maternal grandfather George Johnson Wilson, landing in Montreal from Ayrshire. He met and married Wilhemina Porter MacNellie also recently immgrated from Prestwick Scotland,and they had 9 children eventually settling in Aldershot Ontario (near Burlington).
Always looking to connect or re-connect with descendants of the same line, as many of the immediate family are deceased and I know I have cousins and seconds and thirds I’ve not met. Feel free to contact me.

I am researching the Jones family tree and seeking any information regarding a Mary Gunn, born in Thurso in 1839. At some time she immigrated to New Zealand as she married an Andrew Jones in 1863 in Waikouaiti New Zealand. She died in 1921 in Waikouaiti. Any information would be greatly appreciated

I am researching my Robson history for my Sons. My eldest Son has always wondered if there is a Viking influence in our line. From looking at the Gunn histiry it seems he might be right! I am now trying to find any links to my father, Joseph Robson, who was born in Hartlepool, County Durahm in 1933. His father was James Edward Robson and his mother was Catherine Mary Robson(nee Oram). My father had 5 brothers (Victor, Albert, Alan, John and Charles) who all died in childhood. He had 3 sisters Janice, Beryl and Valerie (all still alive). I would like to trace the family as far back as I can but have not found any relatives from Hartlepool. My Grandfater James Edward had siblings Charles, John Henry and Albert. His parents were Charles Robson and Betsy Maria Robson (nee Holmes). My grandmother, Catherine Mary Robson (nee Oram) had a sister, Lillian.
Any help would be useful

As a Scot myself, I admire this website’s dedication to clan Gunn and it would be so interesting to learn more about my roots (I have a Gunn relative but my family is mostly German).
