Have traced my willson family back to the late 17th century in ely cambridgeshire. A long-standing family tradition is that we are of gunn descent. It might be that our Willson ancestor (most likely richard) was a PoW from the battle of Dunbar 1650 and brought down to work on canal projects in the fens with hundreds of others. Any further news welcome!
