I inherited a badge from my mother. Her father had it made for her and told her it was our family crest. I was looking up the words, “AUT PAX AUT BELLUM” and found your site. My grandfather’s name was Hobson Jennings Willis 1900 - 1975, probably from his father Henry Thomas Willis from Mississippi. I didn’t find “Willis” in your Septs, but did find “Wills”. Interesting history - I always thought Hobson was Irish!? And I thought the crest/badge was from some wild Irish street gang in New York. Americans.

I’m sad to announce the passing of a dear friend Mr. Douglas Wilson on 12/26/07. Doug and I were fellow members of the Lee County Pipes and Drums, Lee county Florida and the St Andrews Society. Doug was very proud of his Clan Gunn heritage. His sense of humor and his loving generous friendship will be sorely missed.God bless you with eternal peace dear friend. Tom & Diane McNabb

I forgot to mention my great grandfather, Hugh Gunn came from Scotland settled in Philadelphia in the late 19th century. His sons, Hugh (my grandfather) and his younger brother, Tommy (who died in WWII) both grew up in Philadelphia as well.
