I am looking to find as much as I can about my ancestors. My last name is Maness and my search keeps ending up at clan Gunn but hten it stops. Could anyone help? Is Maness possibly a sept of clan Gunn.

My grandfather William Argyle Henderson, born in Cleveland, was the son of emigrants from the Dumfries region — Now this lowland region is I believe a center for Hendersons of the Clan Henderson and not the Gunn Henderson sept. One clan book reference is to the movement to a castle in that vicinity by a Gunn Henderson in the role of warden or castlelain of said fortification, now in ruins. Is there any confirmation out there of that story? My grandfather always maintained we were of the Clan Gunn. Thank you.

My father, Charles Wm. Jameson is descended from Robert Sterling Jameson who I believe is descended from Orville Jameson. These Jamesons come from Jackson, Michigan and I believe Owosso Michigan.

Hello and thanks for this web side. I am one of the 7th generations after John Wilson and Thine Kemp. I have just newly learned that they came from the Gunn clan and I am curious to learn more about the clan. John Wilson and his wife moved from Scotland to Norway around 1820.
